Kennel-free by design
our
guardian program
Our guardian program lets our breeding dogs live as cherished family pets instead of in a kennel. You get an exceptional dog, we get a healthy, happy parent, and everyone wins.
what is
a guardian home?
A guardian family raises one of our breeding dogs as their own. The dog lives with you full time, comes to us only for breeding and whelping, and once their breeding career ends, they are spayed or neutered at our expense and ownership transfers fully to you.

questions
Guardian FAQ
How does it work for a female?
You let us know when she comes into heat. She stays with us a few days for breeding, goes home, then returns around two months into her pregnancy. She stays with us 8 to 9 weeks to whelp and raise her puppies, then comes home to you. After the agreed number of litters we pay for her spay and she is yours forever.
How does it work for a male?
We give as much notice as we can, sometimes only a day or two. Males are typically used between 1 and 5 years of age, a few times a month or not at all for months. They are usually with us for a day or up to 2 to 4 days at a time. After the agreed number of years we pay for his neuter and he is yours.
Do guardian homes have breeding rights?
No. Guardian families enjoy the dog as their family pet. All breeding decisions and rights stay with Lovely Poodles & Doodles.
What does it cost?
Guardian dogs are placed at little or no cost. Your responsibility is everyday care: food, routine vet visits, grooming, and training.
